A Culture Built on 4 Core Values

In my organization I would like to build a culture of transparency, prioritize health and wellness, low ego, collaboration, flexibility, fun and focus. Although, my top 4 core values would be transparency, health and wellness, collaboration and focus. These core values will guide my culture and it will keep employees longer (less turnover), happier and therefore aide in creativity and productivity.

My culture inspiration comes from the companies Front and Google. Like these companies and many other companies it won’t be perfect, there may be some instances where these core values are violated or where they will need to evolve as the company grows.

Some possible violations could be that the study of a happy workplace equals productiveness fails to work for some of my employees/coworkers. This would be the case if an employee decides to have too much fun and chooses not to prioritize work and/or to focus on the tasks at hand. I would have to implement some deadlines where the employees can focus on fun and health and wellness but they would have to balance that with work and productivity by the deadline. Similarly, collaborating will help with keeping each other accountable while at the same time building relationships at work which can create a social and happier workplace.
